Through the Tunnel
Ovie Entertainment embraces both the great traditions of filmmaking history -- from L'Atalante to Lantana, Pather Panchali to Pulp Fiction -- and the transformative powers of contemporary film technologies -- from 28 Days Later to Finding Nemo to Russian Ark. The best of world cinema, of Hollywood, and of the independents inspires us to create movies combining aesthetic weight with wide commercial marketability. Ovie is committed to bringing tightly structured narratives, masterful visual storytelling, and memorable dialogue to mainstream screens and to entertaining audiences around the world with all the pleasures of character-driven stories well told.
Ovie feature films celebrate the vision and creativity of independent filmmakers, including writers, directors, actors, photographers, animators and composers. Our balanced production model is based on a unique business plan that calls for English-language American films shot on 35 mm or High Definition in accessible domestic and international locales that provide valuable economic incentives and advantages.
With their ability to focus an audience on the universal human experience, tragic (Citizen Kane; The Constant Gardener) and comic (The General; Amelie), across imagination (La Belle et la Bete; The Matrix ) and time (Braveheart; Casablanca ), from childhood (My Life as a Dog; School of Rock) through old age (Wild Strawberries; Grumpy Old Men), the movies offer us an understanding of self and society, help us envision fantastic worlds, and introduce us to cultures other than our own. Ovie strives to follow on the path of the many innovative moviemakers who have come before us.
